To me, films are as diverse and as influential as music. If its well written, acted, produced and directed then a film can change the way you think about things. Theres not that many films out there that once you've watched them, actually leave you totally gobsmacked. One of my personal faves for this would be American History X (cheers for that one Rob ) On the other hand, films can be a kind of escapism. Easy watching. Stuff like The Goonies or cheese like Flash Gordon. They don't actually have to be that good but if it takes your mind off other things for 90mins or so then why not?!? Guaranteed, if you've just met someone for the first time films are a good subject to talk about. Think about it. Most people have watched at least half a dozen films in their lifetime - if not all the way through then at least parts of them. Which equals something to talk about! I haven't even mentioned genres or musical score yet.....and don't worry I won't! I've waffled enough. My point is: Whats your favourite film? Genre? Soundtrack? Do you love films or do you find it hard to sit through one? Whos your favourite actor/actress.......the possibilities are endless so what do you think? ?

I tick a lot of boxes for ADHD so sometimes struggle to concentrate (as many driving instructors and examiners will testify!). I really couldn't sit down and watch a TV programme all the way through let alone a film until fairly recently. However, now I love them and go to the cinema regularly and love DVD's. The film that first springs to mind as a favourite is 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels'. (Possibly because there is so much flicking from scene to scene that even a young grasshopper minded Matty's attention was kept). Also a great soundtrack. American History X was great Hels and I reckon we'd all like to read a fresh review on it...
