Have to give this project a mention as despite not getting the commercial success it warranted 'Suburbia Kills' the debut album is one of the finest of its ilk around...
Tremendous critical acclaim in press, radio, net etc but just didn't shift somehow. Jimmy Galvin is the writer, singer, producer, artist and all round genius-nice-guy that provides the impetus.
In the studio Jim Barr and Adrian Utley from Portishead provide bass and guitar respectively. A guy whos name I can't remember plays which Jimmy cuts into some amazing loops. Also guest appearances from members of Roxy Music and the Jamaican dance hall scene.
Maybe too eclectic or different to truly 'cross over' but I saw it at the time as a genuine British competitor to Moby and Air.
