Ok. I was introduced to a man called Jim Barr by Jimmy Galvin, someone I think of as friend and inspiration in equal measures. Turns out Jim played bass for Portishead at their famous Roselands, New York gig as well as appearing at Glastonbury Festival and on Jools Holland with them. He owns a beautiful studio which I was able to book the first incarnation of my previous band, leScour into from which the recording of 'So Confused' I am currently using for promotions came from. Jim gradually warmed to us and let us know he was also in a band called Jukes with his wife Tammy who sings and plays drums. We went and checked them out at Bristol's Louisiana and they were pretty cool, two excellent guitarists and backing singers completing the line up. As far as I know they are still signed to independent label Twisted Nerve and last I heard were doing well in Japan! Check them out. Big bass lines, hilarious lyrics, good melody, countermelody and harmony...
