... is bloody good! We used to be in sixth form bands at the same time one or two moons ago! Then we both got gigs in town at the same time so I guess there was a bit of a rivalry between us. We've done similar things really in that we both learned enough guitar to write songs on rather than learning the latest riff with sevnty seven notes in a bar (though he could definitely play more notes per bar than me )
We both gigged a bit in London, had bits of interest from major and fairly major record companies and publishers without quite ever breaking through. Are both qualified in Music Technology and have both recorded lots of demo's...
I like the bloke despite or perhaps because of our former rivalry and have seen him a few times live recently. Have really enjoyed his cover versions of 'Don't Look Back In Anger' and 'Hallelujah' but was dead impressed with his original tune 'All I Need' when he played at my December 'Live Lounge' event in Weston...
Saw him again last night, this time with a backing band consisting of his younger brother Alex on bass and backing vocals and a drummer. More originals stood out as his opening couple of tracks were really strong. I think it was the fifth one in that got me rocking again and also 'Losing My Mind' near the end. Quality songs on a quality album available via his website and in Weston music pubs and shops. Check him out if you get the chance, he's dead good
